One of the most important and famous pieces found in the tomb of King Tutankhamun.
It was made of gilded wood and decorated with colored glass and semi-precious stones.

The queen is represented here on the noon, anointing the king with perfume, while the sun’s disk sends its rays towards the royal couple.
The king here wears a complex crown and a wide necklace, while the queen puts a wonderful wreath on her head.
The bodies of the king and queen were inlaid with colored glass, while the bodies were overlaid with silver, simulating white linen.
The front of the arms of the throne is protected by two lions, while the rest is in the form of two winged serpents, crowned with the
double crown, as they protect the name of the king.
The throne was provided with a footstool of wood, engraved with symbolic images of Egypt’s northern and southern enemies, known as the Nine Bows, bound and stretched on the ground in humiliation.
The depicted birds, known as rakhit, which refer to the common people, are represented here under the control of the king.

A throne with dense inscriptions is one of the masterpieces of Tutankhamun’s treasures, and it was found inside a room known as the “ancillary room” in his tomb.
The throne is in the form of a folding seat, with a backrest added. It was made of carved wood inlaid with ivory and ebony and painted in colors that mimic leopard skin, while the legs end with beautiful inlaid duck heads.
Between the legs there is a half open work of the “Sima-Tawi” symbol, which represents the union of the two countries. The other half seemed to have been stolen by thieves, for the gold foil that covered it.
The greatness of the seat is evident in the back made of wood covered with gold foil inlaid with semi-precious stones and colored glass. On the upper part of the back is the eagle goddess with her wings spread to protect Asma al-Malik. It seems that the throne was made at the beginning of the rule of Tutankhamun, as evidenced by his name written inside the royal cartouche, as “Tutankhaten”.
Carter likened this throne to the folded seats used by bishops in cathedrals. In addition, the delicate woodwork on the back is very similar to the delicate Islamic art
